A universal baby registry allows you to add any product from any store, big or small. Some universal registries, such as Babylist, even allow you to link several registries together in one place for you and your friends and family to have easy access to.

If you feel awkward adding really big-ticket items, why not include a note in the introduction to your baby registry that lets everyone know it would be lovely if they chose to contribute to a big-ticket item rather than buy one outright.

Things like diapers may not be the most exciting to receive upfront, but it sure is exciting to know that the cost of basics like diapers and baby wipes have been covered by someone else, as the cost can really mount up.

There are no hard and fast rules about how many items to have on your baby registry. The average registry seems to have somewhere between 75 to 125 items on it. But ultimately, it is more important to put together a registry list that serves you well.

I'll save you the headache of trying to figure it all out for yourself. Read on to discover the items you actually need on your baby registry in every category including, nursery, diapers, feeding, clothing, gear, bathing, toys and extras just for mom.

If you decide on a changing table be sure to get one with storage or add baskets to store all your diapers, and wipes so that you can give your baby a change without leaving them unattended on the table.

I did not realize the importance of this item until my baby was born. Sure, I thought that we would have sweet moments of me reading to her while rocking, which we did but that's not why it's a must have.

You'll need this, so you can have a break from feeding your baby sometimes. You'll also need it for those times you run some errands and leave your baby with someone else or if you're returning to work.

This also helps tell your body to produce more milk when your baby is first born. It can help too if your baby is having a hard time latching so you can feed them your milk in a bottle. Basically, it's a must have for nursing moms.

On this baby registry checklist, I've included the highchair and some of the feeding items that you'll need when your baby is about 4 or 5 months. If you like you can wait to purchase these items until your baby is a few months old.

Bonus- a lot of baby registries have a registry completion discount, so you can purchase items on your registry that you didn't receive as gifts for a percentage off. So, it doesn't hurt to include these items now.

First, I had one that you could snap the car seat into. This was a lifesaver when my baby was sleeping in the car. When I got to my destination I didn't want to unbuckle and wake her. You can simply pop out the car seat and pop it right into the stroller.

Check out the recovery section of the baby registry checklist below to find some helpful things for you based on whether you have a natural birth or a c-section. The hospital will give you a few things but not everything.

It's a personal choice whether you want to introduce it to your baby. In my experience on those nights when you cannot seem to soothe her, you'll want to try everything including a pacifier, so it's nice to have one or two on hand to see if it helps.

Some essential items that you'll want are a comfortable and safe crib, a stroller that fits your lifestyle, a car seat that meets safety standards, a breast pump and bottles. Diapers, wipes and diaper rash cream are also must-haves for any new parent. Other items to consider adding to your registry include a baby carrier, a baby monitor, a changing table and a high chair.

Crate & Kids has design-forward specialty items galore. They even offer free nursery design services (because every baby deserves a Pinterest-worthy bedroom). And with a multiples discount and 10 percent registry completion discount, it takes the hassle out of deciding where to register for baby.

Love all these retailers but want to condense your registries into one comprehensive list? Check out The Bump baby registry. From wraps to structured carriers, twin baby carriers are great for wearing while grocery shopping, cleaning, or just soothing two fussy babies. Make sure to do your research so you can add your favorites to your twins baby registry checklist.

Bouncer chairs are great to use for feeding, soothing, and entertaining infants. They are portable and inexpensive. Plus they usually come with a vibration setting and an activity bar to keep baby comfortable and happy.

Baby swings are designed to swing back and forth and play sounds, giving infants a relaxing ride while having some visual stimulation too. Swings take up a lot of space and are often not portable so be mindful of space when adding these to your twins baby registry.

Bathing infant twins is done one at a time, so one baby bath is enough. When they outgrow the baby bath, two bathing seats are handy in keeping the twins upright and safe. Bathing seats are not absolutely necessary, but had they been an option when my twins were babies, I definitely would have invested in them!

Regardless if you choose cloth or disposable, twins go through a lot of diapers. When registering for diapers, be cautious with preemie and newborn diapers. However, twins seem to stay in these sizes longer than most singletons, so register for small packages. Size 1 and up, go crazy. Register for the bulk size and put twenty of them on your twin baby registry! 041b061a72
