Position: Operations Manager / Joining Engineering Leader (Job Code: 1001)

 

Duties:

Responsible for contributing to the development and implementation of strategic engineering plans and projects; work closely with senior management to align operational activities with overall business objectives; analyze market trends, identify opportunities for improvement, and propose strategies to optimize the process; manage and allocate resources efficiently; oversee operational budgets, cash flow, and personnel to ensure optimal utilization of resources while maintaining cost-effectiveness; perform continuous evaluation and improvements for operational processes and workflows; implement strategies to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency; provide guidance and leadership to teams, ensuring that employees have the necessary resources, training, and support to perform their roles effectively; monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs); track metrics related to productivity, quality, customer satisfaction, and operational costs to assess performance and identify areas for improvement; identify and mitigate operational risks; develop contingency plans, implement safety measures, and address potential issues to minimize disruptions and maintain business continuity; serve as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, clients, and vendors; facilitate effective communication, manage expectations, and address any concerns or issues that arise; lead and manage a team of joining (welding, sealing, laser and riveting) engineers and technicians, providing guidance, support, and mentorship; set clear goals and expectations for the team and ensure effective collaboration and communication; work hand in hand with customers to define their requirements and to provide the right person to cover their activities and achieve their goals; develop and implement comprehensive validation plans and procedures to ensure the quality and reliability of our customer's joining processes; serve as the subject matter expert in joining (welding, sealing, laser and riveting) troubleshooting; utilize and apply knowledge of joining engineering activities (welding, sealing, laser and riveting), PLC, 5 Whys, TPM, Kaizen, KPIs, PPAP, APQP, Project Management activities, robot programming, FMEA, and OEM welding/joining standards to perform assigned duties; provide support in diagnosing and resolving welding-related issues; analyze joining defects, assess root causes, and implement corrective actions to improve weld quality and integrity; develop and maintain Joining Engineering procedures and specifications in accordance with industry standards and customer requirements; ensure that Joining Engineering procedures are properly documented, tested, and qualified. collaborate with the procurement team and evaluate joining equipment and technologies available in the market; and make recommendations for equipment selection and coordinate its integration into the manufacturing process.

Salary: $135,200

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automation Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree);

 

Training: None;

 

Experience: Three (3) years in the position above, as a Plant Manager, as a Joining Engineer, as a Welding Engineer, or in a related occupation;

 

Other Requirements: Experience must include three (3) years use of all the following: joining engineering activities (welding, sealing, laser and riveting), PLC, 5 Whys, TPM, Kaizen, KPIs, PPAP, APQP, Project Management activities, robot programming, FMEA, and OEM welding/joining standards.

 

Will also accept any suitable combination of education, training, and/or experience.
